The Electrician TV premiere

The short film The Electrician will have it's TV premiere on 24th of May 2010 in Finland on the channel YLE TV1. So all you Finns out there remember to turn on your tellies then! Also Yasahi demo reel of the past year 2009 is here, have a listen to it on the players.

Aubagne International Film Festival

The organizers of the Aubagne International Film Festival over in France personally invited the director Miina Alajärvi, me the composer and Jarno Muhonen the sound designer of the short film The Electrician to attend the festival, as our short film was accepted to compete for best original music and sound.

You can probably guess I was a bit excited about this and of course replied that I will really try hard to be there. Hopefully certain things will go through and we can fly over to Aubagne for the first time in our lives and for a very nice reason too. Miina Alajärvi will not be able to participate so it will be just us sound guys then. The festival is held from 15th to 20th of March 2010.

Site problems (working again!)

There seems to be some host server problems as the site is being very slow and unresponsive. All music streams are working but one has to be very patient at the moment with loading times. Hoping to see this issue fixed soon.

Last week was very busy with all sorts of projects and already aquired a few more at the start of this week. Expect to see the work on these earlier projects appear here soonish!

Tracks signed

First batch of 10 original tracks signed to Bonaire Media, a music licensing house focused on movie trailers and TV. The tracks are various electronic pieces in the genres of ambient, breaks, big beat and moody I've composed recently and over the years. I am very excited about this and will post more information later.

Tribute to Zimmer

Now I know there might be some out there who really dislike Hans Zimmer's music for maybe the hollywood cheesiness of it or for the overall repetitive style of his, but I for one just cannot put myself into that category. I like Zimmer's (or more appropriately his studio's) work, I even find it to be somewhat diverse at times, I really do.

But the thing I really like about his music is that it just really is epic, dramatic big and epic with a feeling. And for that reason, I composed a little tribute to him. It's not much compared to his tracks, but I kinda like it.

New demo track

Composed a new demo track with I guess one could say an Arabian feel to it. You know the sort of stuff you hear when the lead character ventures on in the desert on a camel while the camera pans across the view and finally fixing on the lone journeyman from above. The day turns slowly into sunset and the weary journeyman rests for the night.

OR something like that... Anywho, the track's called "Desert Trek" on the player, have a listen now.

Oh and it's my birthday, the years just keep on stacking up. :)

Slight changes

Updated the music page again, everything is now categorized more logically, I hope. Also added some project video clips to the credits page alongside with a few links to the productions.

Was struggling with the music page for many days, going through various of layouts and ideas, but in the end decided to go for the most simple and easy to use design. More tracks on the way in the near future! Till then, have a listen to the new ones I just uploaded.

Changes

16. December 2009

Moved to a new webhosting provider with plenty of space for the files at last. Turned the whole site into php and added some things to the code to help me keep this site more up to date easy. In addition you can now comment on news posts if you like via the comments link at the end of each post.

Christmas is also closing in and I got plenty of composing to do till then, projects all over the place! I even stepped onto a new playground, Machinimas!

I'll be soon putting up some new demos of stuff I've been working on lately to the player, but till then, happy Christmas time!
